Art on the Corner Consulting and Project Management

Art on the Corner is an internationally recognized outdoor sculpture project in Grand Junction, Colorado. Dave Davis originated and implemented the project in order to revitalize the city's historic Main Street in 1984. For his efforts, he was the 2000 recipient of the Colorado Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts, the 2004 Recipient of the Grand Junction Downtown Development Authority's Lifetime Achievement Award and the project itself earned a 1998 Making Cities Livable Award for public art at the IMCL national conference. The project now has over 150 sculptures, some of which are in the permanent collection of the city and its various non-profit organizations. Others rotate annually and are on loan from the artists. Dave is credited by many downtown business owners, the mayor, the DDA and the former director of the Chamber of Commerce as having implemented the single most effective revitalization effort in the downtown area. Hundreds of cities across the country have used the Art on the Corner project model to successfully revitalize their downtown areas.

If your city is interested in starting a similar project, please contact Dave Davis for a project proposal set, references and consulting fee structure.
